Octant Praia Verde

Longing and nostalgia are made of this

Welcome to your southern getaway, the one you’ve been so looking forward to.

Here, in Castro Marim, getting away from it all means scenery, dips in the sea; and many, many return trips. Surrounded by a leafy pine grove overlooking the sea, Octant Praia Verde is a place where Mediterranean inspiration translates into unhurried days and a deep appreciation of the purity of the natural surroundings, the people, the flavours, and the unique character of the region.

Praia Verde

Castro Marim

R. de Real Village - Praia Verde 8950-434

Rooms are designed with couples and families in mind, while the restaurant draws inspiration from rustic Mediterranean flavours, enhanced by open flames in a wood-fired oven – together creating an atmosphere shaped by a constant pursuit of what is welcoming, homely, and thoughtfully considered.

The human element is equally distinctive, grounded in strong roots – here, at what was the very first Octant. The outdoor pool and bar, surrounded by the peaceful pine grove, along with walks, workshops, and nearby golf courses, all contribute to a stay where you can disconnect from the outside world.

Tourism

Within the municipality of Castro Marim, points of interest include various beaches, the Guadiana River, the national forest, the traditional town of Cacela Velha, the village of Santa Rita, and a state-of-the-art sports complex.

In addition to visiting neighbouring municipalities, there are various activity options for a holiday or short break, from safaris to tours in the Ria Formosa or along the Guadiana, birdwatching, or visits to theme parks. Several world-acclaimed golf courses are located just a few kilometres from the hotel – Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima, Quinta do Vale, and Monte Rei – and tee times can be booked at reception. Staying at Octant Praia Verde, you can also take advantage of the proximity to coastal areas such as Altura, Monte Gordo, and Cacela Velha.

ALGARVE

Often referred to as the “door to Europe”, largely due to its location at the south-westernmost point of the continent, the Algarve is also one of Portugal’s most important tourist destinations.

The temperate Mediterranean climate, characterised by short, mild winters and long, warm, dry summers, along with the calm waters of the south coast, the natural landscape, the historical and cultural heritage, and the rich local gastronomy, are among the attributes that continue to attract millions of visitors each year, making the Algarve one of the most sought-after holiday destinations.

Famous for its immense and pleasant coastline, the Algarve offers the possibility to visit beaches that are considered, by many, the best in Europe. The Octant Praia Verde is located a mere 800 meters from a most beautiful beach, clearly one of the hotel’s highlights.

TAVIRA

Tavira (20 km away), also known as the “Venice of the Algarve”. The Gilão River runs through the city, with several bridges and crossings connecting both sides, including a Roman bridge dating back to the medieval period.

Tavira is also known for its many churches and chapels. Other attractions include Ilha de Tavira beach, the Palácio da Galeria, the nearby town of Vila Real de Santo António and its 18th-century town centre, as well as the opportunity to rent a boat and travel up the Guadiana along unspoilt riverbanks.
